Individual Counseling

Individual counseling offers a private and supportive space to talk openly about personal concerns. In our offices, you'll meet one-on-one with a compassionate and nonjudgmental counselor who values your unique background, experiences, and identity.

In the counseling sessions, your counselor will help you:

  • Explore thoughts and emotions
  • Identify challenges and goals
  • Learn effective coping strategies
  • Develop a broader perspective on stressful situations

Together, you’ll set meaningful counseling goals and track your progress over time—all in a private and confidential setting.

Most students benefit from 5 to 10 sessions, as CAPS follows a brief, goal-oriented treatment model. We focus on short-term support to help you move forward with clarity and resilience.

If your needs fall outside the scope of our services—for example, if you're managing a chronic condition or require longer-term, specialized care—we’ll work with you to find appropriate support through trusted community providers.
