CAPS Crisis Line

Help for students with urgent mental health needs is available 24/7. At any time of day or night, you can call 631-632-6720. If you identify your need as urgent, you will be connected to a counselor who can help. If you are calling outside of our regular hours (M-F, 9am-5pm), you can be connected to a counselor through the CAPS Crisis Line. After calling 631-632-6720, please press 2 to speak with a counselor. You may also call the CAPS Crisis Line directly at 855-509-5742.                           

Please make sure to tell us immediately if you are experiencing an urgent mental health need (examples include: if you are feeling unsafe; if you have recently been sexually assaulted; if you have recently experienced the death of a loved one; if you are having thoughts about hurting yourself or someone else).
