Octavio Deluchi, Guitar

Originally from the mountains of Minas Gerais, Octávio Deluchi was born in São João del Rei and found his artistic and musical life in the city of Prados. An artist, musician, classical guitarist, pedagogue, and producer, he leads a variety of cultural projects and initiatives, with the classical guitar and Brazilian music at the core of his work. As a performer, he has won more than fifteen national and international awards and has appeared in Brazil, Chile, the United States, and England just in the past season. Among his notable performances are invitations to the Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Americas Society, Radford International Guitar Festival, and the Guimarães Rosa Institute in Santiago, Chile.
Based in New York City since 2021, he maintains a continuous exchange between Brazil and the United States through SERTÃO Americas, a multimedia platform dedicated to cultural initiatives and creative solutions ranging from audiovisual production to educational projects such as Jacarandá. He also serves as the director of the Mostra de Violão da Lira Ceciliana; was a founding member of the Associação de Violão das Vertentes; coordinator of the BCGC – BCGC – Brazilian Classical Guitar Community; and of the concert series Domingo na Lira.
His most recent recordings are being released by the historic Brazilian label Kuarup. His arrangements and editions have been published by Les Productions d’Oz (Canada), Guitar Chamber Music Press (United States), and the Acervo Digital do Violão Brasileiro (Brazil). As a pedagogue, he has been developing for over thirteen years a consistent approach to the guitar as a means of expression and formation. He currently teaches at EzraGuitar (Manhattan & Brooklyn) and at Stony Brook University at the undergraduate level.
