Congratulations To Our 2025 Stony Award Winners

December 9, 2025

Dear Stony Brook Community,

What a joyful evening it was Monday night joining our accomplished honorees and their families, along with distinguished colleagues and friends for the Third Annual Stony Awards. The elegance, excitement and fun of the event reflected its importance as each of the people recognized made a significant contribution to the excellence of our university and to enhancing its warm, supportive and inclusive culture.

I was particularly pleased to see these awards honor our phenomenal staff who are often the unsung heroes, yet their work is so essential to the success of our mission. I want to express my gratitude to the award nominators who took the time and effort to capture the extraordinary impact of each of our finalists so thoughtfully, as well as to the selection committee members who made the difficult award decisions among so many deserving nominees. I was impressed and moved reading each of the compelling nominations, and learning how our finalists went above and beyond expectations to truly excel in their roles. I remain deeply inspired by all of our finalists and am truly grateful for their exceptional contributions.
