Ping Liu – one of five SBU faculty honored as part of 2025 Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers for her groundbreaking work on materials for energy production, conversion and storage. Her research explores the theoretical properties of diverse materials across various forms, including nanostructures and surfaces. see more

Thomas Knoll (a 5th year Chemistry PhD student in Ben Levine's group) won the American
Chemical Society Pride Merck Graduate Research Award. The award, sponsored by Merck,
recognizes excellent graduate research in the chemical sciences from researchers who are members of the LGBTQIA2S+ (LGBTQ+) community.
