Lisa Broughton
Bio/High Technology Development Specialist, Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Workforce Housing

Lisa Broughton joined the Department of Economic Development and Workforce Housing in 2005 to serve as a point person for companies in the emerging fields of energy, high tech and bio-technology. She collaborates with local universities, laboratories and business associations to design programming to support these industries. She also focuses on expanding the wastewater capacity that is vital to economic growth. Since December 2008, she has been Acting Director of Energy for the Department of Environment and Energy.

Prior to her work at Suffolk County, Ms. Broughton was Director of Economic Development for the Town of Huntington where she led the community input portion of the Comprehensive Plan, worked extensively on the Town’s efforts to revitalize Huntington Station, and advised the Town Board on potential clean energy projects.

Lisa Broughton holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies and Journalism, and a Certificate to Teach English as a Second Language.
