Planning Ahead as a Pre-Health Student
Date: Wednesday | September 10, 2025 at 1 pm - 2pm | Virtually
Description: Join Academic & Transfer Advising Services and the Undergraduate Colleges for a workshop that will feature information on how to set yourself up for success as a pre-health student at Stony Brook. Topics will include:
-How connect with pre-health advising
-Researching your programs of interest
-Understanding pre-reqs and application timelines
-Learn how to utilize campus resources to help support success as a pre-health student
Mock Interview Day
Date: Wednesday | October 22nd 5:30 pm - 7pm | Virtually
Description: Applying to health-related professional/graduate programs like medical or dental school?
Practice and improve your interviewing skills with professionals and/or current doctoral
students in the field. Join Academic & Transfer Advising Services and The Career Center
to practice.

Academic Programs within the Healthcare Industry Pannel
Date: Wednesday | November 12th 1:00 pm
Description: Healthcare is a vast field with many different occupations. Here at Stony Brook University, we offer many undergraduate programs that align with different occupations in the healthcare industry. This panel will talk about admission requirements and how students can be competitive applicants. This is a great way for students to explore different academic majors within the healthcare field. There will be food and giveaways. Programs will include:
- Clinical Laboratory Sciences
- Respiratory Care
- Health Sciences

Pre-Med Bootcamp
Date: Tuesday | December 9th 9:00 am
Description: Join the Career Center and ATAS for a Pre-Med Bootcamp. This will provide pre-med students with helpful tips and resources regarding the applying to medical school application process. Topics will include: personal statement writing, application components such as letters of recommendation and how to send them to desired schools, MCAT timeline, primary vs. secondary applications, and how to stand out in a medical school interview.

Stony Brook University is an excellent place to prepare for a future in medicine, dental medicine, and other health professions. Students pursuing health careers can major in many different disciplines, and work closely with Academic Advisors to complete the best courses in preparation for a future in healthcare.
