Neurobiology in the Community

Neuroscience impacts us all.  Our memories, movements, and interactions with the world
rely on our brain functions.  Investigating these processes is at the heart of what
we do in the Department of Neurobiology & Behavior.  Students, postdocs, and faculty
are passionate about sharing neuroscience findings with the broader community.
In conjunction with the Dana Foundation’s Brain Awareness Week, you can find members
of the department presenting free programs at public libraries around Suffolk County.
Our outreach efforts also include demonstrations of brain-related phenomena at community
events and teaching budding scientists about career paths.
