 "The Preservation Society of the East End, Inc. was notified by its counsel, Henry
                                    Ader McCarthy, that the Secretary of State at Albany has approved its application
                                    as a  non-profit membership corporation under the laws of the State of New York. 
                                    "The following members were named as community representatives: Amagansett, Mr. and
                                    Mrs. Donald W. Lamb, Herbert E. Fielch Erwin B. Schellinger, James, Reutershan; Amagansett
                                    East, William R. Claxton; East Hampton, Kennell I. Schenck; Montauk, Richard C; Glennon;
                                    Northwest, 111 Bianco; Sag Harbor, Peter Clarke; The. Springs, V. Jarvis Wood; Three
                                    Mile Harbor, Edward H. George; Wainscott, Mrs. Charles J. Hall. The acting president,
                                    Ferris G. Talmage, appointed the following committees: Forestry and related matters,
                                    Herbert E. Field; Inland Waters. and Fish Conservation, James H. Reutershan, Edward
                                    George; Richard C». Sage, Edwin L. Sherrill, V. Jarvis Wood; Publicity, Peter Clarke,
                                    Mrs. Charles J. Hall, Richard C. Sage; Water Mill V. Jarvis Wood; Publicity, and related
                                    matters, Edwin B. Schellinger, Mrs. Charles J. Hall. Any resident of the Town or East Hampton, and any association or organization with
                                    similar objectives, may apply for membership. Each community representative is available
                                    to receive suggestions as to conservation problems, in his area." "The Society will present, when necessary, legislation to preserve the ecology of
                                    the whole area, and members will be advised as to how they can help. It will utilize
                                    the services -of marine biologists, soil and forestry experts, officials of the State
                                    Conservation Dept., the Bureau of Marine Fisheries, and the U. S. Fish and Wildlife
                                    Service. It will cooperate with similar groups elsewhere. The Society will encourage
                                    the granting of inducements, such as tax relief, for the preservation of wetlands,
                                    forests, and open spaces, and will endeavor to protect individual property rights
                                    affected by practices inconsistent with conservation. It asks public support in bringing
                                    any conservation violations to its attention, through the community representative
                                    or by letter to Box 953, East Hampton, New York." "Public meetings, with guest speakers, be held from time to time to present the serious
                                    problems involved in preserving East Hampton’s aesthetic values and its economic resources
