On October 10, (6:15 PM) Dr. Moro will be respondent to the talk "Radical Italian Feminism: From Carla Lonzi’s Sexual Difference to Adriana Cavarero’s Anti-(Trans)Gender." On October 20, (5 – 6:50 pm) in Harriman Hall 249, Dr. Valentina Moro's graduate philosophy course (PHI 615: Philosophy and Feminism) will feature a guest lecture by Dr. Natascia Tosel (University of Verona), titled "Vulnerability as Politics: Feminist Practices of Narra(c)tion". Open to SBU students, faculty, and staff only.


Congratulations to Mary Jo Bona, Loredana Polezzi, and Karen Lloyd

Mary Jo Bona, Distinguished Professor Emerita, has established an endowed lecture series for WGSS. Loredana Polezzi, Alfonse D'Amato Chair, has been refinished as a global top scholar. Karen Lloyd, Dept. of Art, has won a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for excellence in teaching.


Congratulations to Emily DiCesare

Emily DiCesare, a soon-to-be Junior in the Biochemistry Program at Stony Brook University, has been awarded the Rube Family Scholarship in honor of Jennifer Rube by the Vincent Lombardi Lodge #2270 of the Order of the Sons and Daughters of Italy in Rochester, New York. During the Fall 2024 semester, she served as Teaching Fellow in Christine Griffiths' SBU 101 course and visited the Center for Italian Studies on a regular basis. Emily is a strong student, encouraging mentor, and aspiring doctor! Congratulations, Emily!
