Nayoung Yang received both her BA and MA from Yonsei University, South Korea. Her research focuses on the relationship between 20th and 21st century global Asian literature and food. Exploring the discursive structures that shape notions of cultural authenticity, she examines how the sensorial experiences that surround food are put to work in the name of reclamation, recuperation, and reconciliation. She has won the Distinguished Travel Award and The Korean Studies Scholarship at Stony Brook University. Additionally, she was a research fellow at the Mellon Sawyer Seminar in Transpacific Thought, jointly hosted by CUNY Graduate Center and NYU.
