On December 18, 2025, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) hosted a small gathering to celebrate Bilal El Jamal,Grace Keles, Yuchen Tang, and Rak Amonpetchsathapon, all graduate students awarded the Nina and Vinod Graduate Scholarship.

Each applicant was required to submit to the ECE Scholarship Committee documentation of academic achievement, as well as an essay describing how the scholarship would positively impact and support the student’s continued success in graduate study. Each recipient, at the time of application, earned a 4.0 grade point average.

At the event, the scholarship recipients were joined by their advisors and faculty members with whom they built relationships. Professor Alex Doboli, Professor Wendy Tang, and Professor Jorge Mendez Mender attended, in addition to a few of the recipients' family members.

The award recipients had the opportunity to deliver remarks about the scholarship's impact and to acknowledge the donors’ generosity. Nina and Vinod Rathore, both alumni of the ECE Department, established this scholarship to support promising ECE graduate students to continue their academic and research pursuits.
