Research Development and Support
We provide comprehensive support to faculty, students and departments throughout the full lifecycle of scholarly research projects - including identifying funding opportunities, supporting internal and external grant/fellowship nomination and submission processes, navigating institutional research processes, supporting research-related initiatives and collaborations, and post-award coordination.
By working closely with faculty, students, departments, and central University offices, the unit helps foster interdisciplinary collaborations, strengthen proposal quality, and streamline research administration processes in support of the College’s research mission and faculty and student research success.
Pre-Award Support
- Provide individual and departmental consultations to identify funding opportunities through PIVOT and targeted solicitation searches
- Share timely and relevant funding opportunities
- Facilitate multi-unit and interdisciplinary collaborations and partnerships
- Review solicitation guidelines and eligibility criteria
- Advise on required technical and administrative documents, including subaward documentation
- Assist with budget development and budget justifications, including cost-share requests
- Coordinate with relevant University offices (e.g., Provost’s Office, IRB office, CIE, International Affairs, OVPR office)
- Provide proposal system support (e.g., myResearch, ASSIST, Grants.gov)
- Offer feedback on unfunded proposals and support resubmissions, including identifying new funding opportunities
Post-Award Support
Provide procedural guidance and coordinate with relevant University offices for post-award
management, Support award logistics, as requested.
