How to apply for the Anthropology M.A.  PROgram

Application for the Anthropology M.A. program must be completed online using the Graduate School's Application page.

Besides completing the online application, applicants will need to provide the following: 

1. Three letters of recommendation
2. CV (formatting guidance from Columbia U)
3. Statement of Purpose
4. TOEFL or IELTS scores, if required (see link below)
5. A non-refundable application fee
6. As part of the application, please list any faculty member(s) with whom you’d like to work.
7. Undergraduate and Graduate Transcripts:
   • Official transcripts from the undergraduate college(s) or university(s) in which a degree was conferred
   • Official transcripts from each college or university relating to graduate-level work, regardless of whether a degree was conferred

Please refer to the Graduate School website for graduate admission policies, including more detailed information regarding transcripts, TOEFL/IELTS scores, etc.

Note: Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are NOT required.

The SBU Anthropology M.A. program application deadline is January 15th.
