Approvals

As a faculty/staff member, accepting grant award money under the auspices of the University renders the University liable and responsible for anything you do. Your department head needs to approve the project. In some cases, such as projects involving an academic appointment, you'll need approval from the Provost's office.  Completing the Stony Brook Foundation’s Proposal Processing Form ensures the project meets University standards and has garnered the necessary departmental approvals.
