Michael Yee

Local Union No. 3, IBEW

Michael Yee is a 30 year member of Local Union No. 3, IBEW and for 20 of those years he worked at the Starrett City Co-Generation Plant. In 2006, Michael was elected to the position of Local 3 Treasurer and was re-elected for four additional terms. In 2007 Michael was hired by the Trustees of the Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry (JIB) as the Associate Director of the Educational and Cultural Trust Fund and subsequently promoted to Director in 2011. In that capacity Michael has represented the industry on the JIB Green Technology Committee, NYC Green Jobs Roundtable Training Committee, and the Gpro Electrical Committee. Michael has overseen installations of four photovoltaic systems on properties owned by the JIB and along with a dedicated team of Local 3 instructors, implemented several courses for “Greening” the membership of Local 3, such as Photovoltaics, Lighting Controls, EV Charging and Gpro.
