Dr. Upreti has 17+ years of extensive business and technology development experience in the Lithium ion industry, which includes bringing new products to market. He has also been a former member of the US Department of Energy's Frontier Research Centre at Binghamton University in New York and closely worked with the inventor of lithium ion battery technology, Professor Stan Whittingham. He has published 100+ articles in international journals and holds multiple technology patents and their foreign equivalents in more than 30 countries. In past he has also worked in projects from New York State Energy Research and Development Agency (‘NYSERDA') and the US Army's Research Development and Engineering Command.

In 2016 Empire State Development, New York State Government also conferred Dr. Upreti with the Technology Innovation Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Recently, Dr. Upreti won New York State's prestigious NYSERDA 76West Clean Energy Competition.

He currently holds multiple advisory roles in public as well as private companies in li-ion value chain. Dr. Upreti is the president of C4V and also leading a lithium ion battery manufacturing initiative called iM3 (Imperium3), which is building 15GWh battery cell manufacturing plant near Binghamton New York.
