Ross Tyler provides Strategy and Development support to the Business Network for Offshore Wind. As former Maryland's Clean Energy Director, along with managing the UNEP Sustainable Energy Finance Secretariat, Ross has 10 years of renewable energy sectors market development expertise and a specialization in offshore wind. His career has included management positions within both government and private sector organizations, directing domestic and international programs including intergovernmental partnerships of cooperation. Ross continues using his earlier career experiences of marketing channel consulting services towards the development of the U.S. offshore wind supply-chain. Ross earned his B.Sc. from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland and his MBA from the University of Kent, U.K.

The U.S. is about to 'hatch' its offshore wind supply chain. However, the industry is facing the 'chicken or the egg' quandary: the developers need an efficient domestic supply-chain while the US business require a secure pipeline of projects for return on investment. Insight into the potential challenges and possible solutions will keep the evolving US offshore wind industry advancing forward.
