Mr. Matthew Filippelli is Director of Offshore Services for North America and Principal Engineer with AWS Truepower, a UL Company. He has been engaged with offshore and onshore wind energy consulting since 2003. His experience in site assessment, wind technology, and project design supports AWS Truepower's advisory and verification services for a diverse spectrum of clients. He has participated in nearly every phase of wind development, from siting through financing, to operational analyses, verification and due diligence. Mr. Filippelli has also helped advance the US offshore wind industry with a variety of research and development projects at the national, state and project levels. His work has assisted wind projects located throughout North America, Asia, and Europe.

Mr. Filippelli participates in a variety of wind industry working groups related to site characterization and turbine design, including the IEC 61400-15 Wind Resource and Site Assessment standards working group, and the AWEA Offshore Wind Technical Advisory Panel. Mr. Filippelli holds a dual degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering program at Clarkson University.
