Exhaust Heat and Water Recovery Advancements
Abstract: Gas Technology Institute has developed a new technology that can simultaneously extract water vapor and its latent
heat from natural gas exhausts to increase efficiency and conserve water
resources in the Transport Membrane Condenser (TMC) technology. Working with USDOE,
NYSERDA, multiple gas industry partners (including National Grid, National Fuel, and NYSEG),
and others, this new technology was demonstrated in multiple industrial boilers to achieve 92-95
percent efficiency. This new energy efficiency technology is now commercially available from Cannon
Boiler Works as the Ultramizer system. This presentation will highlight the Ultramizer system and other
uses of the novel TMC technology for heat and water recovery.
