Distributed Storage: Peak Reduction and System Efficiency
As utilities examine ways to increase system reliability and manage peak load challenges in light of increased pressure to engage consumer demand side management, the potential of distributed energy storage – deployed as close as possible to the customer load -- as a solution for both reliability and peak load management, as well as a key enabler for wind and solar, has gained significant traction. This presentation will explore the business case behind implementing utility scale distributed energy storage and examine the economic, operational, and environmental benefits that utilities can expect to recognize from an aggregated grid-scale distributed energy storage deployment.
