The University Senate is the campus-wide academic governance body, composed of three Major Governance Units (MGUs). It also includes representation from the Professional Employees Governance Board. The Senate's Executive Committee maintains direct communication with university leadership, meeting monthly with the President and Provost. The standing committees are vital to the Senate's work. By collaborating with their respective Cognate Administrators, they monitor university-wide operations and develop policy recommendations for the Senate's consideration. Monthly Senate meetings serve as the primary forum for communicating with senators and the university community. The agenda regularly includes updates from the administration, reports on the activities of standing committees, and other key announcements.
