 Extent, Scope, and Content NoteThe collection comprises 22 cubic ft. of papers created by and collected by Floyd
                                 S. Linton between 1974 and 1979 including correspondence, clippings, committee records,
                                 pamphlets, and related material. Linton was a member of the Suffolk County (New York)
                                 Legislature from 1974 to 1980. A democrat from Miller Place, Linton represented the
                                 4th Legislative District and was presiding officer from 1976 to 1977.  Prior to serving in the Suffolk County Legislature, he was a school teacher and a
                                    Peace Corps Volunteer. He later served on the New York State Board of Regents and
                                    was a member of the Long Island State Parks Commission.
