Admitted Student Information Session
Following the success of last spring's pre-orientation sessions in China, this April,
the China Center will work with a number of academic and administrative units on campus
to hold information sessions for admitted Chinese international students and their
families.
President Stanley, along with faculty representatives from the College of Arts and
Sciences, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Undergraduate Education and
Advising, Advancement, Admissions, Orientation, and the China Center will visit Beijing,
Shanghai, and Guangzhou to interact with admitted students and introduce them to Stony
Brook academics, campus, and community.
The information sessions follow a national trend of universities hosting in-country
events for international students to begin acclimating and acculturating them to the
American educational system prior to their arrival.
