Assistant Professor
                        Required Qualifications
                              
                                 Ph.D. or equivalent in hand by start date of appointment.  At least one year of experience
                                 teaching physiology, neurobiology or a closely related subject at the undergraduate
                                 level.
                        Preferred Qualifications
                              
                                 Research experience in neurobiology, physiology or a related life science.  Ph.D.
                                 in neurobiology, physiology or a related field.  Demonstrated experience as a primary
                                 instructor/instructor of record.  Documented record of effective teaching in large-enrollment
                                 undergraduate courses.  Training or experience in innovative, evidence-based pedagogy
                                 and active learning.  Facility with current teaching technologies and learning management
                                 systems.  Flexibility in adopting and testing new instructional methods.
                        Responsibilities & Requirements
                              
                                 
                                 The successful candidate will participate in the Department's educational mission
                                    of undergraduate teaching, carry out scholarship in teaching and learning, and perform
                                    university and departmental service.

                                 This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
                                    provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: Spring 2018.

                                 Stony Brook University, home to many highly ranked graduate research programs, is
