Assistant/Associate Professor

Required Qualifications

 MD or PhD, Board Certified in Internal Medicine and BC/BE in Cardiovascular Diseases.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise or additional training in interventional cardiac procedures with experience in clinical, translational or basic science research.

Responsibilities & Requirements

 The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine at Stony Brook University Medical Center is looking for an Interventionalist (MD or MD/PhD) at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, board certified in Internal Medicine and BE/BC in Cardiovascular Diseases.  The clinical research program is involved in numerous site-initiated and multi-center research projects.  The center serves as a resource for advanced cardiac care to a wide population and multiple physician groups.

Stony Brook University Medical Center is a 603 bed tertiary care, medical state-of-the-art facility, located on the north shore of Long Island, providing cardiovascular care to the 1.5 million residents of Suffolk County, Long Island.  Long Island provides a variety of living environments, ranging from a cosmopolitan style with big city amenities to a suburban/small town feel with top notch school systems and quality of life.  Interested applicants can inquire further or forward a brief statement of interest and their curriculum vitae, per the instructions below.

Special Notes

This is a tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.  Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.  Eligibility for tenure will be based upon applicants' qualifications and experience.  To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).
