Sara holds an M.A. in English from Montclair State University, an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and a B.A. in journalism and English from CUNY Baruch College. She is primarily interested in representations of gestational labor and maternal agency in British and Irish modernism, Irish folklore, and related non-belletristic political texts from the early 20th-century. Sara also remains focused on engaging with postcolonial theory and poetry and poetics in her writing. She is a strong advocate for inclusive pedagogy and the public humanities, and a recipient of the Dr. W. Burghardt Turner Fellowship. As a first-generation descendant of English language learners and dreamers, Sara believes in the infinite richness of literacy and expression in its many forms.
