Frank Zinghini ’80 ’81
Frank is a native Long Islander who graduated from Stony Brook University with his
bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Computer Science.
Today, Frank is president and CEO of Applied Visions, Inc., a software development company that he founded to create visual software solutions
for solving complex problems. AVI provides solutions in cyber security, business applications,
and command and control systems to government and commercial customers worldwide.

Applied Visions supports the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences by funding
a student scholarship, and Frank serves on the Computer Science Advisory Board.
“When I learned that the University was constructing a new facility dedicated to the
Computer Science Department, I was excited for the CS department, for all Long Island
and for my own business. This demonstrates Stony Brook’s commitment to the longevity
and growth of this most important program,” he said.
Applied Visions actively recruits the best and brightest students in the department
of Computer Science. Many of AVI's employees are Stony Brook alumni, and he is proud
                        of that affiliation.
“I could not be more pleased with the interns and entry level hires we take in from
Stony Brook. They are well prepared, creative, free-thinking and eager to become contributing
                        members of our team.”
