Augustus DeBenedetto - Finance

The College of Business proudly recognizes Augustus DeBenedetto for his outstanding accomplishments in leadership, innovation, and academic excellence.

Augustus is earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, with a specialization in Finance, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. He has also successfully completed the Business Honors Program—a testament to his intellectual rigor and commitment to excellence.

As President of the Investment Club for three semesters and former Vice President, Augustus redefined the organization’s mission and impact. He co-founded Stony Brook’s first-ever student-run investment fund, the Fourier Fund, creating a hands-on learning environment for students to engage in applied financial research and real-world asset management.

Under his leadership, the Investment Club has hosted high-profile guest speakers, arranged industry site visits, and organized recruitment events, helping students gain access to valuable insights and career opportunities in the financial sector.

As part of the Business Honors Program, Augustus completed a capstone project with Broadridge, titled: “EcoXpert ESG Analyzer and Access AI Platform”—an innovative exploration at the intersection of environmental, social, and governance analysis and emerging technology.

“Founding the Fourier Fund and leading the Investment Club has been the most rewarding part of my time at Stony Brook. I wanted to create something lasting—something that gave students the opportunity to apply what they’re learning in real time and walk into interviews with real experience. Watching it grow into a launchpad for others has been incredibly fulfilling.”

Augustus DeBenedetto exemplifies the qualities of a forward-thinking leader and scholar. We commend him for his achievements and look forward to all he will accomplish in the future.
