Genevieve Lipinsky de Orlov is a PhD candidate and Graduate Council Fellow in Art History and Criticism at Stony Brook. Genevieve's dissertation investigates art’s relationship to the commodity form through modern and contemporary practices that critically engage the conditions of art’s production and circulation. Genevieve holds a BA in Art History from the George Washington University and an MA from the Institute for Art in Context at the Universität der Künste Berlin. Genevieve has worked on exhibitions at the Phillips Collection and at the Museum of Modern Art. From 2020 to 2022, Genevieve was the editor of Texte zur Kunst and in 2023 cofounded a digital publication for art criticism, The Public Review (thepublicreview.org).
