Edward Bogucz is the founding Executive Director of SyracuseCoE, designated in 2002 as New York State's Center of Excellence for innovations in environmental and energy systems. Under Dr. Bogucz's leadership, more than 200 firms and institutions have been engaged in SyracuseCoE collaborative projects, which address global challenges in clean energy, healthy buildings, and sustainable communities. SyracuseCoE leads AM-TEC, a four-year program focused on strengthening the Syracuse-area industry cluster in advanced manufacturing of thermal and environmental controls, which won competitive awards from five federal agencies under the 2012 Advanced Manufacturing Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge. Prior to SyracuseCoE, Dr. Bogucz served eight years as dean of engineering and computer science at Syracuse University. He earned B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering at Lehigh University and an M.Sc. degree in heat transfer engineering at Imperial College of the University of London.
