Dr. Charles Rubenstein

Professor, Pratt Institute School of Information & Library Science

Charles Rubenstein is a tenured professor at Pratt Institute’s graduate School of Information and Library Science in Brooklyn, New York and has been a visiting professor of engineering in the Institute for Research and Technology Transfer (IRTT) at Farmingdale State College (SUNY) Farmingdale, New York. He has an earned doctorate in bioengineering (Polytechnic Institute of New York) and a master’s in library and information science (Pratt Institute). He has received many IEEE honors including IEEE’s Robert S. Walleigh Distinguished Professionalism Award, an IEEE-USA Citation of Honor, Centennial Outstanding Young Engineer and Third Millennium Medals, and the Regional Activities Board Innovation Award. An internationally known distinguished lecturer for the Engineering Management Society and Computer Society Chapter Tutorial Programs, he has delivered HTML and eCommerce tutorials, IEEE Leadership Skills Workshops, "Scalability of Membership" presentations and IEEE 802.11 wireless technology seminars throughout the world. Dr. Rubenstein is currently an IEEE Director and Chair of the Region 1 (NE USA) Board of Governors. He is a member of Eta Kappa Nu (Electrical Engineering) and Tau Beta Pi (Engineering) honor societies.
