Dr. Sanborn, has 13 years of experience at GE Global Research in the areas of gas turbine real-time monitoring & diagnostics, hydrogen energy systems development, and alternative fuels & biofuels work with a focus on fuel flexible gasification. Dr. Sanborn was the project manager or a senior engineer on 9 R&D projects funded by GE, US agencies, and industrial clients. He currently leads an internal GE advanced technology project on fuel flexible gasification with applications for power generation and chemicals/fuels synthesis. His responsibilities include systems analysis & technology development, including key dependencies on biomass, other alternate feedstocks, and regulatory implications. His professional background includes applying advanced reasoning techniques to military planning & VLCC tanker navigation. He holds several U.S. & foreign patents and has published in the fields of software development, equipment monitoring & prognostics, systems modeling & analysis, biomass cost & availability, gasification performance modeling & analysis.
