Why did you want to join the internship program?

The AAAS department gave me so much when it came to having events that promote cultural diversity in a fun and educational way, providing courses that dive into so many topics that are overlooked in high school history curriculum, and expanding my community to amazing faculty and students who are driven to uplift the people around them. I hope that I can connect students to many opportunities and to the department as a whole.

Health Science Major with an Asian American Studies Minor

Class of '27

Why did you want to join the internship program

I am passionate about empowering Asian American students to explore our history and culture. Finding a community in college can be difficult, so I want to encourage Asian American students to feel that they have a supportive group of people with shared backgrounds to turn to for mentorship and guidance. Being in an environment where I can cultivate my leadership and interpersonal communication skills while also being able to celebrate my cultural heritage is a valuable experience that I hope to gain from this internship.
